Benchmark Brent oil price slips as focus returns to oversupply
NEW YORK: Global benchmark Brent crude dipped on Thursday as concerns about mounting supply returned after a brief rally earlier in the session on comments that Saudi Arabia's exports would fall in August.
TOKYO (Aug 16): Asian shares hit fresh one-year lows in early trading on Thursday, while oil and precious metal prices also tumbled as Turkey's currency crisis and fears of an economic slowdown in China fanned worries about global growth.
MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 1.0%, while Japan's Nikkei and the Australian benchmark dropped 1.2% and 0.4%, respectively.
Chinese stocks continued to sag, with the Shanghai Composite Index and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index shedding 1.1% and 0.9%, respectively.
Coinbase has re-launched its wallet offering to try and become the “gateway to the decentralized internet.” Hopefully, it’s more than just a re-branding exercise. In a recent blog post, Coinbase announced that it is revamping its wallet offering, retiring Toshi and making way for the Coinbase Wallet – an undeniably direct, and to the point name. Perhaps all the new users Coinbase is registering didn’t understand what a “Toshi” is.
