Foreign funds dumped RM1.21b M'sian equity ahead of Hari Raya, says MIDF Research
KUALA LUMPUR (June 18): Foreign selling of Malaysian equity on Bursa Malaysia rose to RM1.21 billion last week from RM903.1 million the prior week, according to MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd Research.
In his weekly fund flow report today, MIDF Research's Adam M Rahim said this also marked the seventh week of foreign attrition, matching the longest uninterrupted period of selling seen in 2017 from the week ended Sept 22 to Nov 3, 2017.
KUALA LUMPUR (July 19): The ringgit is expected to trade between 4.1800 and 4.2000 against the US dollar by the end of this year due to capital flows amid global interest rate differentials, according to the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER).
MIER executive director Dr Zakariah Abdul Rashid and senior research fellow Dr Zulkiply Omar said normalisation of interest rates besides shifting trade flows will result in weaker demand for the ringgit.
